How to Rip and Play PS2 Disc Games on Your Jailbroken PS3

This guide applies to my jailbroken PS3 builds with multiMAN and webMAN MOD preinstalled.

Part 1: Rip the PS2 Disc to ISO

1. Open mmCM / multiMAN from the XMB.
2. From the home menu, select Switch to multiMAN Mode to ensure it is in full multiMAN mode.
3. Scroll to the Games section.
4. Insert your PS2 disc.
5. Highlight the disc icon, press Triangle, then select Create ISO.
6. Choose HDD as the destination.
7. Wait for the ISO creation process to complete.
8. Exit multiMAN and remove the PS2 disc.

Part 2: Load and Play the PS2 Game

1. Open webMAN MOD and make sure the Full Version is installed.
2. From the XMB, go to the webMAN Games folder.
3. Open the PlayStation 2 folder.
4. Select your ISO to mount it.
5. Return to the main XMB.
6. Click the gold PlayStation 2 format disc icon to launch the game.

If the PlayStation 2 folder is not showing, or the game you just installed is not listed, go into webMAN Setup and select Refresh webMAN Games & XMB. After it refreshes, check the folder again.

Notes About PS1 Discs

This same process also applies to PS1 disc games if you would like to back them up.

PS1 games are hardware compatible with all PS3 models and will play directly from disc without needing to create a backup. PS2 games, however, do not have full hardware compatibility on all models, which is why creating and launching the ISO is necessary on most systems.

You can use this guide simply to back up your PS1 discs to the internal drive for convenience.
